A Clear Message: Stay Home!
A clear stay home order (with specifics on what constitutes as essential work) would provide better guidance to many Iowans.
Many are confused by the current guideline of 10 people or less, wrongly assuming that this is a safe number of people to gather. There are employers still requiring or allowing staff to gather in common workplaces (even for in-person meetings), regardless of their role and the necessity of their work being done on site. There are essential workers performing their roles without extra precautions (physical distancing measures, protective equipment, health checks, testing). There are full parking lots at big box and grocery stores on the weekends.
Not everyone can stay home—but we need all that can to do so now. We need help to protect our neighbors. Thank you, Rep. John Forbes, for calling for a stronger message from our Governor. Read Rep.
